WHEN YOU CRITICIZE YOUR CHILDREN THEY DON’T STOP LOVING YOU, THEY STOP LOVING THEMSELVES

This is such an important message to repeat multiple times.

Kids need our approval.

They will do anything to get it.

I always say, when a kid acts out and is trying to “get attention”, replace the word ATTENTION with CONNECTION.

When kids are working to get “attention”, it’s because they’re being noticed more and being responded to more.

If we give them the love and affection at the same rate and capacity as we do the yelling and disciplining, maybe that would have a huge change.

Kids need the support of their parents.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is so important in a child’s growth.

It doesn’t mean you cannot discipline your kid, it means disciplining them with lessons and helping them learn from their mistakes.

Teach your kids right from wrong.

INSTEAD OF PUNISHING THEM, GIVE THEM CONSEQUENCES.

Teach them the realities of actions and reactions in life.

Love them just as much when they mess up as you do when they succeed.
