Three frum hikers were rescued on Monday afternoon after getting stuck on a steep cliff in the Dead Sea area. Fire crews from the Tamar Station, along with the shift commander and the area commander, were dispatched following a report to the Israel Fire and Rescue Service’s 102 hotline.
When the teams arrived, the area commander led an initial assessment and decided to call in the Lehba Special Rescue Unit and IDF’s Unit 669 for assistance.
After both units reached the scene, all forces held a joint evaluation and, working together, formulated a plan for a careful and complex rescue. The hikers, who were in danger of falling, were safely brought back to stable ground.
Medical personnel treated the three at the scene before transferring them to a hospital. They were all listed in mild condition.
