Earlier today (on Shabbos), only 3 hostages, who had been held by the terror organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza for 498 days, were released and transferred to the IDF and later to hospitals in Israel.

The hostages, Alexander (Sasha) Troufanov, 29, Sagui Dekel-Chen, 36, and Lair Horn, 46. While released on their feet, some of them suffered injuries and will undergo treatment.

The hostages being transferred by the Red Cross to the hands of the IDF.

The hostages met with their families in Israeli territory and will remain hospitalized for several days for treatment, with some requiring surgeries.

Released Hostage Troufanov’s mother, who was herself a hostage in Gaza and was released a year and a half ago, became Frum since her release. To prevent Chilul Shabbos, she arrived on Erev Shabbos to the area where she met her son in order to ensure she would not to be Mechalel Shabbos.

Efforts are currently underway to free the remaining surviving hostages from the first phase. The aim is to secure their release this week and with that to conclude the first phase of the deal.
