Israel was referred to as “Palestinian territory” on the in-flight map screen of an Air Canada plane, Israel’s N12 reported Tuesday.

Images of the screen went viral on social media, with one user writing, according to the Jerusalem Post:

“A passenger snapped this photo on an Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Toronto today, showing that the airline’s map no longer includes Israel,” a pro-Israel account posted on X. “@aircanada Care To Explain?”

The airline responded that the system was managed by a 3rd party entity.

“Air Canada has been made aware of a display issue with the interactive map on the IFE systems of its B737 aircraft,” the airline’s X/Twitter account responded.

“The issue has affected other carriers using the same system, and we are working with the third-party provider on a remedy.”
