Air Force One, carrying President Trump to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, safely returned to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland shortly after takeoff on Tuesday night, due to a “minor electrical issue,” the White House confirmed.
“Out of an abundance of caution,” the aircraft made a U-turn less than an hour into the flight. The President and passengers were seen offloading, with staffers deplaning bags, crew transferring boxes of fruit, wrapped sandwiches, beverages, and a dozen suitcases loaded onto a truck for transfer to another plane.
