The second-largest Powerball run has ended with a single ticket Wednesday night winning the $1.817 billion jackpot. This marks the second-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever won and the largest prize awarded this year.

The winning numbers were white balls 4, 25, 31, 52, 59 and the red Powerball 19. The Power Play multiplier was 2.

The winner will have the choice between an annuitized prize of $1.817 billion or a lump sum payment of $834.9 million (before taxes).

While the grand prize went to Arkansas, several players in the tri-state area cashed in.

Nationwide, eight tickets matched all five white balls to win the second-tier prize.

Two of those $1 million winning tickets were sold in New York. Other Match 5 winners were sold in California, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Wednesday night’s drawing was the 47th in this specific jackpot run, setting a game record for the most consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner.

This is only the second time a Powerball jackpot has been won in Arkansas; the first occurrence was in 2010.

For the next drawing on Saturday night, the Powerball jackpot will reset to $20 million.
