Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon castigated Hamas and called on the U.N. to condemn the terrorists’ treatment of three Israeli hostages released over Shabbos who appeared emaciated after 491 days in Hamas captivity.
Ohad Ben Ami, Eli Sharabi and Or Levy were freed, but looked gaunt and had lost a lot of weight, when their current photos are compared with those taken prior to their capture.
Danon sent an urgent letter to the UN Secretary-General following the dire physical condition of the three Israeli hostages released earlier today from Hamas captivity:
“This is clear evidence of war crimes and blatant violations of international law by Hamas,” the letter read.
“The condition of Or, Eli and Ohad is clear evidence of the war crimes and flagrant violations of international law by Hamas, which has committed and continues to commit crimes against humanity.Hamas terrorists and the Gaza crowd gathered there to humiliate the hostages appeared in a very good condition, while the Israeli hostages alone bear the unmistakable signs of starvation.”
Danon demanded from the UN Secretary-General: “I urge you to unequivocally and publicly condemn the inhumane treatment of these hostages and demand the immediate and unconditional release of all those still held in Gaza.”
