Austria’s Directorate of State Security and Intelligence (DSN) said Thursday that a major weapons cache, believed to be intended for attacks in Europe targeting Israeli and Jewish sites, has been uncovered as part of an international probe into a global terrorist network linked to Hamas.

As part of the coordinated investigation, authorities in London arrested a 39-year-old British man suspected of involvement in weapons trafficking and planning terror attacks. The arrest was made in cooperation with security services from Austria, Germany, and the UK. Investigators seized five pistols and ten cartridges hidden in a rented storage unit on the outskirts of Vienna. Security sources said the cache was likely connected to Hamas’s foreign operations in Europe.

Austria’s security agency and Interior Ministry confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, though no further arrests have been reported locally. Meanwhile, German federal prosecutors stated that those detained in the case had purchased weapons and ammunition from foreign suppliers to carry out attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets.

Hamas has denied any involvement, but European intelligence officials believe the discovery exposes a sophisticated network preparing coordinated assaults in multiple countries. The investigation is reportedly linked to the October 1 arrest of three Hamas-affiliated suspects in Berlin.
