Azerbaijan’s security service has arrested two suspects plotting to assassinate a senior member of the country’s Jewish community.

The two individuals, a Georgian national and an Azeri citizen, were allegedly offered $200,000 to carry out the assassination.

According to Azerbaijani authorities, the suspects were acting on behalf of a foreign country, with sources indicating that Iran is possibly suspected to be behind the failed attack. This foiled assassination attempt is part of Tehran’s ongoing efforts to target Jewish and Israeli figures abroad.
