A ballistic missile fired from Yemen prompted sirens across central Israel early Sunday morning.

According to the UDF, the missile, which was launched by the Iran-backed Houthi terror group in Yemen, was intercepted by Israel’s air defense systems shortly after launch.

There are currently no reports of casualties or physical damage resulting from the incident.

Sirens blared across central Israel in response to the threat. Roughly five minutes before the alarms, residents received a push notification warning them of the incoming long-range missile.

Since the IDF renewed its operations against Hamas in Gaza two months ago, the Houthis have launched 35 ballistic missiles and more than 10 drones toward Israel. Some of the missiles failed to reach their targets and landed short.
