Harav Noach Heizler zt”l, the esteemed Rav of the Sanhedria Murchevet neighborhood, was niftar Thursday. He was 89 years old.

Hatzalah were summoned earlier in the day to the Rav’s residence on Maagalei HaRim Levin Street following reports that he had suddenly collapsed, according to Bechadrei Charedim.

Hatzalah teams performed prolonged resuscitation efforts, but tragically, they were eventually forced to declare his passing.

The Rav’s parents were Harav Zalman Seidel Heizler zt”l, and Rebbetzin Tamar a”h, the daughter of the legendary Harav Moshe Porush zt”l, one of the founding pillars of Agudah in Yerushalayim.

In his youth, he absorbed the Torah of the previous generation at the Etz Chaim Yeshiva.

Upon reaching the age of marriage, he built his home with his Rebbetzin, a scion of the distinguished Rokeach family.

Appointed to the rabbinate in 1971, Rav Heizler served the Sanhedria Murchevet community for many years. He was a fixture at the neighborhood’s “Maor Chaim” Beis Midrash, where he davened every morning, greeting every congregant with warmth and patiently answering halachic shailos.

The Rav maintained a special bond with the leaders of the generation. He was close with Maran Hagaon Harav Shach zt”l, and enjoyed a relationship of deep trust with the Posek HaDor, Maran Hagaon Harav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt”l, to whom he frequently sent complex shailos.

During his lifetime, Rav Heizler accepted gezeros from Shamayim with love, suffering the loss of two daughters: Mrs. Bila Weinberg a”h, and Mrs. Sarah Rachel Dervkin a”h.

He leaves behind a large Torah family: his Rebbetzin, his son, Harav Naftali Heizler, Rav of the Ramat Beit Shemesh neighborhood, who has been appointed to succeed his father in the Sanhedria rabbanus; and Harav Meir Heizler, a Dayan in the Badatz of Bnei Brak. He is also survived by his brother, yibadel l’chaim, the Rosh Yeshiva Harav Meir Heizler.

The Levaya will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM from his home at 125 Maagalei HaRim Levin Street in Sanhedria Murchevet, proceeding to Har Hamenuchos for kevurah.
