Harav Tuvia Goldschmidt z”l, who served as a Rosh Chaburah at Mir Yeshiva and as a Dayan at the Yerushalayim Beis Din, passed away on Shabbos afternoon at the age of 67 after years of illness and great suffering.

Rav Goldschmidt was the son of Harav Moshe and his mother, Miriam Goldschmidt of Antwerp. In his youth, he learned at Yeshiva Ketana Or Yisrael and later at the Ponevezh Yeshiva, where he remained steadfastly devoted to his rebbeim.

Upon reaching marriageable age, he married his Rebbetzin, from the Feldinger family of Basel-Beit Vagan.

He served as a dayan at the Beis Din under Harav Avraham Dov Levin zt”l. Known as a massive talmid chacham, he learned Torah day and night with hasmada and was a baki in Choshen Mishpat.

He is survived by children and grandchildren, leaving behind twelve sons and daughters, sons- and daughters-in-law who continue his legacy as talmidei chachamim and yirei shomayim.

The levayah took place motzoei Shabbos at 11:30 p.m. from the Shamgar Funeral Home to Har Hazeisim  for kevurah.
