BDE: R’ Yitzchak Kalman Z”L, 85, Tragically Drowns in Tverya Pool

Belaaz regrets to inform you of the Petirah of Rav Yitzchak Kalman, Z”L, a resident of the Bait Vegan neighborhood in Yerushalayim and the director of the Har Nof Beis Ulpana Kiruv school for Russian girls, who drowned today in the Chamei Tevrya hot springs in northern Israel at the age of 85.

R’ Yitzchok had traveled to the north to Daven at Kever Harashbi oin Meron and spent the Shabbos near Meron, tragically drowned in a pool at the Tverya hot springs during the afternoon. Despite prolonged efforts revive him at the scene, medical teams were sadly forced to pronounce his death.

R’ Yitzchok was known to be close to the current Amshinover Rebbe Shlit’a and also served as a Gabai to the Ribnitzer Rebbe Zatzal when the Tzadik spent time in Eretz Yisroel between the years of 1972 and 1973.
