Boosting a Bitachon Culture in Your Business

As the Jewish new year started and we all prayed for a year of Health, Wealth, Happiness, and of course success in business, now is time to take action. So let’s jump right into discuss a hot topic that many times is not very clear to business owners and leaders who stand so much to gain from being clear on this foundational concept.
Let’s explore the benefits of bitachon for how it relates to business leaders who are looking to grow their business and become the best possible business leaders they can be.

Sol says, if you want to build a bitachon culture in your business it starts with YOU.
As a coach who works with CEO’s, business owners, and leaders in a 1-1 capacity, I find that clients who implement consistent bitachon building systems are on a higher frequency than everyone else. They think differently and they act differently.
Let me highlight some areas where they stand out from business leaders that don’t.
1. Calm and collective: They think more positively and are generally calm even during a setback, crunchtime, or a crisis. They don’t worry and are very focused on what they can do today, and in the present moment.
2. Open mindedness: They generally appreciate their challenges, acknowledge their shortcomings, and are more open minded to work on them. They embrace them, and find the opportunities in them. This specifically helps me as their coach accomplish a lot more with them in shorter periods of time.
3. Communication: They generally have meaningful relationships with their partners and pairs. They accept criticism and don’t shy away from giving kind constructive criticism immediately when necessary. They are genuine, sincere, and don’t feel a need to flatter those around them and don’t worry much or try to control outcomes.
Here are just 3 examples of qualities I picked up that I find very common by leaders who study bitachon consistently.
Many of them have told me that it is extremely helpful to them, to run their business and keep their teams fulfilled and energized.
At RLS, one of our values is that we strive to use principles and wisdom of the Torah as our guide. The Vilna Gaon says in Mishlei 22:19 “עיקר נתינת התורה לישראל הוא כדי שישמשו בטחונם בה’ “The main reason the Torah was given, is that we should put our bitachon in Hashem”.
The challenge is that although many of us already understand the bitachon concepts and fundamentals, if we don’t connect the knowledge to our heart, and constantly remind ourselves about them, nothing changes.
It is a grave mistake to think that if we understand bitachon, then we can expect to see the benefits of it. As we say three times a day, וידעת היום והשבת אל לבבך. We must Internalize the knowledge into our hearts in order to feel the benefits or we simply won’t feel them. The way to do that is by setting a consistent study routine. Once a routine is set into place, the bitachon culture in your business is officially building.
