The IDF has confirmed that a new phase of ground operations in Gaza has begun, involving dozens of soldiers operating in multiple areas across the Strip.

According to the statement, both regular and reserve forces under the Southern Command launched a wide-scale ground incursion in northern and southern Gaza as part of the opening stage of Operation Chariots of Gideon.

Over the past week, the Israeli Air Force conducted a heavy wave of strikes, targeting over 670 Hamas-related sites, including weapons depots, operatives, underground tunnels, and anti-tank launch positions, aimed at disrupting enemy readiness and supporting ground troops.

The air force continues to provide real-time support to IDF units operating throughout the region.

The IDF reported that dozens of terrorists have been eliminated, terror infrastructure both above and below ground has been destroyed, and Israeli forces are now securing key positions within the Strip.

“The IDF will continue operating against terrorist organizations in Gaza as needed to protect the citizens of the State of Israel,” the statement concluded.
