A Baku-bound Azerbaijan Airlines plane, carrying 67 passengers and five crew members, just crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, after being diverted from its original Grozny destination. Reports indicate there are 12 possible survivors in critical.

Local news agency Tengrinews reported the incident, confirming a fire broke out at the crash site. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations is responding to the incident.

The Embraer E190AR plane, initially headed to Grozny, was rerouted to Makhachkala and then Aktau, where it requested an emergency landing before crashing.
