Israel and Saudi Arabia have achieved a significant breakthrough in their normalization negotiations, according to a report by Haaretz. The breakthrough comes after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) dropped his insistence on a explicit timetable for the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Instead, MBS will reportedly be satisfied with a vague commitment from Israel regarding the Palestinian issue. This concession marks a notable shift in Saudi Arabia’s stance, potentially paving the way for further progress in the normalization talks.

However, a separate report by The Jerusalem Post suggests that Saudi Arabia is linking normalization with Israel to the end of the war in Gaza. Saudi officials have reportedly told sources close to US President-elect Trump that Riyadh will not normalize ties with Israel unless it ends the war in Gaza, according to the Jerusalem Post.
