Turning Point USA leaders said Saturday that they received 18,000 new requests to form chapters following Erika Kirk’s first public remarks since the assassination of her husband, organization founder Charlie Kirk.
By Sunday morning, the number of inquiries had nearly doubled, reaching 32,000, according to the group.
In a live-streamed address from her late husband’s office on Friday, Erika Kirk vowed that his legacy, built on faith, patriotism, and moral clarity, would endure.
She promised that his mission would become “stronger, bolder, louder and greater than ever,” urging students to start or join Turning Point USA chapters wherever none exist.
“He wants you to make a difference, and you can,” she said. “The movement is not going anywhere, and it will only grow stronger when you join it.”
Republican Minnesota state Rep. Elliott Engen shared a screenshot Saturday of a message from a TPUSA official stating the group had logged 18,000 chapter-start requests at colleges and high schools.
Before Erika Kirk’s appeal, the organization reported 9,000 chapters on college campuses and 1,100 at high schools.
“This is the Turning Point,” a TPUSA leader wrote in the text exchange.
