A “Freedom Flotilla” vessel, reportedly carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, was allegedly struck by Israeli drones in international waters off Malta’s coast around 12:00 AM Maltese time, according to Israel’s Channel 12.
The attack targeted the ship’s generator, causing a fire and a hull breach. 30 international human rights activists were on board.
The Maltese government confirmed that a nearby tugboat assisted with firefighting efforts, and a rescue operation secured the vessel and crew by early morning.
Malta is 1,227 miles away from Israel.
