Contrary to a recent I24 TV report that religious parties threatened Israeli PM Netanyahu with leaving the government, a source close to the matter has revealed to Belaaz that the UTJ party had planned to send a letter to Netanyahu threatening to leave the government if the Charedi draft law was not halted. However, they backed out at the last minute.

UTJ MK Moshe Gafni suggested that pressure should be applied to ministers rather than directly to Netanyahu.

In a conversation with Belaaz, UTJ MK Yitzchak Pindrus, clarified that there was no explicit threat made to Netanyahu, but rather an understanding that the Prime Minister must accommodate their demands and if not they will leave the government.
