The mother of hostage Matan Angrest shared with N12 that the family received confirmation from released hostages that he is alive.

His father, Hagai Angrest, told Walla News: “We received confirmation that he is alive from the returned hostages. It appears he is injured and being held under harsh conditions.”

Matan, a tank unit soldier, was taken hostage by Hamas terrorists on October 7 along with his fellow soldiers Itai Chen, Daniel Peretz, and Tomer Leibovitz, who were all tragically killed in combat. Their bodies were also taken into Gaza.

According to the Hostages’ and Missing Families Forum, Matan was critically injured at the time of his capture.
