A Miami man has been given a 25-year prison sentence for planning violent attacks on Jews and African Americans, according to the Jewish News Syndicate.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced that 41-year-old John Kevin Lapinski Jr. was sentenced on Friday for “a series of firearm offenses and for amassing weapons, tactical gear and attack plans targeting Jewish and black Americans.”

During a search of his home at the time of his arrest, authorities uncovered several firearms and gun parts, thousands of rounds of ammunition, tactical equipment, body armor, and smoke grenades. As a convicted felon, Lapinski was prohibited from owning such items.

Investigators also discovered a shooting target depicting an African American man riddled with bullet holes.

The Justice Department further revealed that Lapinski had created a list of targets, including “a Jewish member of Congress, local synagogues, Jewish-owned businesses, and other religious and ethnically identified sites,” noting that his plans were “detailed.”
