Released hostages participated Thursday in the March of the Living at the former Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, walking alongside Holocaust survivors.

Freed hostage Eli Sharabi spoke in front of the crematorium of Auschwitz. Hus brother Yossi was murdered by Hamas terrorists. “We will never forget or forgive the horrors of the Holocaust, Sharabi said. “Yet every representative who has come here from the October 7 delegation is a triumph of light for the Jewish people, and a reminder that the Jewish people will exist for eternity. The Jewish people sanctify life, not death. We come here with the hope that the covenant between the state and its citizens will be honored — that all the hostages will return, both the living to their homes and the fallen to a proper burial.”

Among the other participants were Ori Megidish, rescued in an IDF operation, and Agam Berger, a soldier released earlier this year through a ceasefire deal. The pair visited the site Wednesday with Agam’s mother and survivors Irene Shashar and Gita Kaufman.

Israeli President Yitzchak Herzog also took part in the march in Poland.
