Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, currently hospitalized, raised urgent concerns on Tuesday about reports of progress toward an Iranian nuclear deal that could allow the Islamic Republic to retain nuclear capabilities. Posting on X from his hospital bed at Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, Bennett called the potential agreement “deeply concerning” and urged Israel to take a firm stand against it.

“The information being published about progress toward an Iranian deal that might leave nuclear capabilities in the hands of the Ayatollah regime is deeply concerning,” Bennett wrote. He emphasized that Israel must respond decisively, stating, “The State of Israel must stand clearly—and not remain silent—in the face of a deal that could endanger our security.”

Bennett, 53, was admitted to Meir Medical Center overnight between Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20, after experiencing chest pains during a workout. According to hospital reports and his spokesperson, he underwent a cardiac catheterization procedure and remains under observation in the intensive care unit. Due to his condition, which is reported as stable, Bennett canceled his participation in the upcoming “March of the Living” event in Auschwitz, Poland to focus on recovery.
