Rabbi Berel Lazar, the Chief Rabbi of Russia, arrived in Eretz Yisrael earlier this week to be Mesader Kidushin at the wedding of the youngest son of Lev Leviev, an Israeli diamond magnate, investor and philanthropist, while also taking his time to visit several prominent Rabbanim and Rebbes.

Rabbi Lazar visited a number of Rebbes and Rabbanim to invite them to the wedding of his daughter, and present them with his newly printed Sefer.
The Chief Rabbi’s assistant tells Belaaz in a conversation that Rabbi Lazar was received with great honor during his visits, specifically by the Gerer Rebbe, with the Gabbaim noting how rarely does the Rebbe give such respect. Rabbi Lazar engaged in deep and long discussions with the Rebbes and Rabbanim he has visited, who showed him much esteem for him as a Chief Rabbi and to Russia.
Rabbi Lazar will be marrying off his daughter in one month to the son of the Chief Rabbi of Odessa. Belaaz has learned that due to travel restrictions, the Chosson’s family from Ukraine is unable to enter Russia, and the Kallah’s family from Russia cannot enter Ukraine. Therefore, the wedding will be taking place in Eretz Yisrael.
