After this week’s disagreement and concerns over the collapse of the Hostage agreement, Hamas has announced today that it will release three hostages tomorrow, and it will attempt to continue the deal while disregarding President Trump’s demand to release all of remaining hostages by Saturday at 12:00 noon.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that the list of names received today from Hamas through the mediators, Qatar and Egypt, includes:
Sasha Trufanov (29), Sagi Dekel-Chen (36), Yair Horn (46). They noted that “this list is acceptable to Israel and has been shared with the families’ approval.”
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement, there was backlash from Israeli officials, who criticized the Prime Minister for ignoring President Trump’s demand to release ‘all’ hostages or “face “all hell will break out”—as the President put it.
In response to the anger, the Prime Minister’s Office issued a clarification, stating: “In the previous announcement regarding the list of hostages, there was a regrettable error. Instead of ‘This list is acceptable to Israel,’ it should have read ‘This list was received by Israel.’ This is simply a factual description and does not reflect Israel’s stance on the matter.”
