Early this morning, Thursday, in Melbourne, Australia, a car decorated with a Chanukah Menorah sign was firebombed in the driveway of a home in St Kilda East, with no injuries reported and residents evacuated as a precaution.

Victoria Police said they identified a person of interest and launched an investigation, while Jewish community security groups said patrols were already operating at heightened levels due to rising fears after recent attacks.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the incident, saying “there is no place in Australia for antisemitism, hate, and violent ideologies,” as national and state leaders continue to warn of a growing pattern of anti-Jewish violence.
