As tens of thousands of Chasidim carefully monitor the health of the Gerrer, Belzer, and Vizhnitzer Rebbes shlita, both encouraging reports and worrying news emerged over Shabbos.

B’chasdei Hashem, the condition of the Gerrer Rebbe showed improvement, according to B’chadrei Charedim, after he had been hospitalized last week at Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus.

A physician from the United States arrived on Friday, and by Shabbos night the Rebbe was able to recite Kiddush as usual, joined by his sons and son-in-law, Harav Shimon Rothstein. During the Shabbls meal, he shared Divrei Torah and stories. Later, he went to the rooftop together with his gabbai, Rabbi Leiby Pznitzevsky, to recite Kiddush Levanah.

In Belz, there was notable excitement as the Rebbe, who had been discharged from the hospital Thursday following surgery earlier in the week, joined all the tefilos and tishen on Shabbos. He also served as sandak at the bris of the son of Harav Yisrael Avigdor Fried.

The Belzer Rebbe was later seen leaving the main beis medrash on Shabbos after Shalosh Seudos dancing joyfully with chassidim to the song “Ki Orech Yamim.”

Meanwhile, on Motzei Shabbos, the Vizhnitzer Rebbewas hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem after experiencing general weakness. Sources reported to Bechadrei that he had undergone tests on Friday, returned to Moshav Ora for Shabbos, but felt unwell again and was admitted Saturday evening for further examination.

The community is urged to continue davening for the full recovery and strength of the Rebbes: (Rav) Yaakov Aryeh ben Yuta Hena, (Rav) Yissachar Dov ben Miriam, and (Rav) Yisrael ben Leah Esther, b’soch sha’ar cholei Yisrael.
