The Hostages and Missing Families Forum announced it will narrow its operations now that only three hostages remain in Gaza: Dror Or Hy’d, Master Sgt. Ran Gvili Hy’d, and Sudthisak Rinthalak. Families will decide whether to continue holding the weekly rallies at Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square.

“The official struggle is over,” said Lior Chorev, the Forum’s strategy head, noting that a hostage deal is in place and supported by Israel and the US. Remaining funds and volunteer support will be directed to the three families, who can decide how to use them.

Since the ceasefire, 20 living hostages have returned, and 25 of the 28 deceased have been brought back. With only three still missing, recovery efforts are expected to be more complex and may take time.

Chorev emphasized that the Forum is not abandoning its mission but adapting to the current reality. “There are three hostages left, and it’s unclear how much time it will take to bring them home,” he said. Staff will stay in contact with the Or, Gvili, and Rinthalak families to provide ongoing support.

A new organization, Organization 255, is being formed to continue supporting hostages’ families long-term and complement state services, filling the gaps left by the Forum’s closure.
