Huckabee: US No Longer Supports Palestinian State

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has proposed that a future Palestinian state could be established in other parts of the Middle East rather than Yehudah and Shomron and Gaza, and that statehood in general is no longer fully supported by US policy.

His comments came during an interview with Bloomberg published on Tuesday.

In the interview, Huckabee stated that the United States no longer fully supports the idea of an independent Palestinian state, saying he “does not think” the policy remains active in Washington.

Huckabee told Bloomberg that “unless there are some significant things that happen that change the culture, there’s no room for it,” referring to the establishment of a Palestinian state within Yehudah and Shomron; a long-term goal of past Administrations.

He further emphasized that he believes such changes are unlikely to happen “in our lifetime.”

The statement comes as European countries debate unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu says that giving the Palestinians a state in the wake of Oct 7 would be a reward for terrorism, and that Israel’s security would be dramatically compromised.
