The IDF and Shin Bet announced this evening that, as part of a brigade-level operation in Jenin, soldiers from the Duvdevan Unit and Shin Bet agents eliminated two terrorists responsible for the deadly shooting attack in the village of al-Funduq in Samaria, which resulted in the murder of three residents.
According to IDF details from the operation, overnight, in a counter-terrorism mission in the Jenin area, under the intelligence direction of Shin Bet, the forces initiated a “Pressure Cooker” procedure on a building in the village of Burqin. After exchanging fire with two terrorists who had barricaded themselves inside, the forces successfully eliminated the terrorists.
The Pressure Cooker procedure is an IDF tactic designed to deal with an enemy barricaded in a house.

The two terrorists killed were Mahmad Nazzal and Katiba Shalabi, residents of Qabatiya and members of the Islamic Jihad organization. They were involved in the shooting attack in al-Funduq on January 6, 2025, where three Israeli civilians were murdered and six others were injured. Additionally, during the operation, several other terrorists who aided in carrying out the deadly attack were arrested and taken for Shin Bet interrogation.
During the operation, an IDF soldier was seriously injured and evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment. His family has been notified.
