In a significant blow to Hamas’ capabilities, the IDF announced Friday that six key terrorists from the terror group’s naval commando unit have been eliminated in recent months and during Operation “Gideon’s Chariots.” These operations were a collaborative effort involving the Navy, the Intelligence Branch, the Shin Bet, and the Southern Command.
The IDF stated that the eliminated terrorists “promoted terrorist acts in the maritime domain against the citizens of the State of Israel and the security forces during the Iron Sword War,” and that “a number of the terrorists who were eliminated took part in planning the murderous massacre on October 7.”

In related developments, the IDF expanded its operations in the northern Gaza Strip earlier this week, with tanks reportedly encircling Beit Hanoun, located just 3 km from the border. This strategic move was planned prior to a recent ambush by Hamas that resulted in the deaths of five fighters Hy”d.
Also, the Air Force conducted heavy strikes in Khan Yunis and Gaza City Friday. Strikes in Gaza’s Tufah neighborhood were described as a “belt of fire,” with footage showing smoke rising from the area.
