The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced Tuesday evening that the IDF and ISA, under the direction of the Southern Command, carried out a strike on August 10, 2025, that killed Jihad Kamal Salem Najjar, a Hamas terrorist involved in the October 7 massacre.

Najjar was among those who infiltrated Kibbutz Nir Oz during the brutal attack and participated in the abduction of Yarden Bibas.

“The IDF and ISA will continue to operate against the terrorists who took part in the brutal October 7th massacre,” the military stated.

After the announcement, Yarden responded: “A small part of my closure happened today. Thank you to the IDF, the Shin Bet, and everyone who took part in the elimination of one of the terrorists who kidnapped me on October 7. Thanks to you, he will not be able to harm anyone else. Please take care of yourselves, heroes.”

“I am waiting for full closure with the return of my friends David and Ariel, and the remaining 48 hostages,” he added.

Yarden’s wife Shiri Hy”d and their two sons, four-year-old Ariel Hy”d and nine-month-old Kfir Hy”d, the youngest hostage taken on October 7, were abducted separately. In November 2023, terrorists murdered them in cold blood, strangling the children to death with their bare hands.

Yarden was released on February 1 in a hostage deal. Later that month, his wife and children were brought back to Israel.
