The IDF reported Friday that it has killed a senior member of a terror group operating in northern Yehudah and Shomron near Nablus.

Commandos from the Duvdevan unit conducted a raid in the Balata refugee camp based on Shin Bet intelligence about the location of Omar Mustafa Abu Lail, a leading terrorist figure.

During the operation, the IDF says that Abu Lail was fatally shot when forces attempted to arrest him. Soldiers found a handgun in his vehicle, and a second suspect was also taken into custody.

According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Abu Lail, 39, had participated in several shooting attacks against Israeli forces in the Nablus area. He was also accused of transferring weapons to other terrorists in Nablus and Jenin and harboring wanted individuals.
