The IDF announced that its Givati Brigade, under the 162nd Division, has been conducting operations in northern Gaza’s Beit Hanoun region over the past month as part of Operation “Gideon’s Chariots.”

Working alongside the Combat Engineering and Armored Corps, Givati troops dismantled hundreds of terrorist infrastructure sites, both above and below ground.

With support from the Israeli Air Force, the forces targeted and destroyed military compounds, sniper nests, and observation posts that posed threats to Israeli soldiers.

In partnership with the elite Yahalom unit, the troops also uncovered and neutralized dozens of tunnel shafts and several underground routes used by terrorists.

According to the IDF, these actions have rendered Hamas’ Beit Hanoun Battalion inoperative. The various companies that made up the battalion are no longer functioning, and the majority of Hamas operatives in the area have been eliminated.

The commander of the Givati Brigade summed up the achievement, stating: “We dealt a significant blow to Hamas’ Beit Hanoun Battalion.”
