The IDF and Shin Bet officially confirmed the death of senior Hamas terrorist Muhammad Sinwar, a key military figure and brother of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar — was killed in a precision airstrike weeks ago along with Rafah Brigade commander Muhammad Shabana and others, who were hiding under the European Hospital in Gaza.
Defense Minister Israel Katz made the announcement and issued a stark warning to other top Hamas operatives:
“Now it is official: The murderer Muhammad Sinwar has been eliminated… and was sent to meet his brother at the gates of hell.”
He continued:
“Izz al-Din Haddad in Gaza and Khalil al-Hayya abroad, and all their partners in crime — you are next in line.”
Haddad is currently Hamas’s top commander in Gaza City, while al-Hayya sits on the group’s leadership council abroad, likely in Qatar or Lebanon.
The announcement comes as Israel continues to press forward with its military objectives in Rafah and across the Gaza Strip, focusing not only on weakening Hamas’s military capabilities but also targeting its command structure.
As of now, Izz al-Din Haddad is believed to be the most senior Hamas figure still operating inside Gaza. According to Israeli officials, his elimination would mark another significant step toward dismantling the terror group’s control over the enclave.
