The IDF announced Friday morning that it now has “control over the situation” following a large-scale drone attack launched by Iran, involving at least 100 unmanned aerial vehicles directed at Israel.
According to the military, Israeli Air Force fighter jets intercepted and shot down many of the drones outside of Israeli airspace. So far, b’chasdei Hashem, none of the drones have managed to penetrate Israeli territory.
In light of the IDF’s response, the Home Front Command updated its guidance to the public, saying civilians no longer need to stay near bomb shelters. However, it noted that limits on public gatherings are still in effect.
Despite reporting that the threat is being managed, the IDF has not confirmed that all of the drones have been neutralized.
The Home Front Command said it would continue to provide updates if there are signs of further threats emerging from Iran.
The IDF also explained that the nationwide sirens sounded at 3 a.m. were based on intelligence suggesting Iran would launch an immediate counterattack in response to Israeli strikes — an escalation that ultimately did not occur.
