An IDF aircraft carried out a strike on Saturday night against a Hamas terror cell positioned just outside the Al-Maamadani Hospital compound in the Zaytun area of central Gaza, the army said Sunday.
According to the IDF, the terrorists had been using the hospital grounds as a hiding place, storing weapons there and preparing themselves with arms before carrying out attacks.
“The Hamas terrorist organization continues to use hospitals in the Gaza Strip for terrorist purposes, cynically and brutally exploiting the civilian population in and around the hospital,” the IDF said in a statement.
The army added that the operation was conducted with precautions to reduce civilian casualties. Measures included the use of precision-guided weapons, real-time aerial monitoring, and additional intelligence assessments.
