Following the horrific attack that took place last night (Wednesday) in Washington, in which two employees of the Israeli Embassy in the United States — Yaron Lishinsky and Sarah Milgrom hy”d, were murdered by a terrorist, former U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, President Trump expressed “deep sorrow and heartbreak over the heinous murder” of the two embassy staff members.

Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked President Trump for the efforts he and members of his administration are making to combat antisemitism in the United States.

The two leaders also discussed the ongoing war in Gaza. President Trump expressed his support for the objectives set forth by Prime Minister Netanyahu — including the release of all Israeli hostages, the elimination of Hamas, and the advancement of the Trump Peace Plan.

Regarding the Iranian issue, the Prime Minister’s Office added: “The Prime Minister and President Trump agreed on the need to ensure that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons.”
