In a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Iran’s envoy to the UN, Saeid Iravani, condemned Israel’s admission to assassinating Hamas terror leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last July.
Iravani deemed the act a “heinous crime” and called on the UN to denounce Israel’s actions.
“Defense Minister Israel Katz ‘publicly and shamelessly acknowledged that the Israeli regime was responsible for the assassination of Mr. Ismail Haniyeh while he was visiting Tehran’,” Iravani wrote in the letter, citing Defense Minister Katz’s admission as a justification for Iran’s massive ballistic missile attack on Israel in October.
