Iran has reportedly placed an order with China for materials that could be used to manufacture hundreds of ballistic missiles, according to The Wall Street Journal. The move is seen as part of Tehran’s efforts to rebuild its military strength while it remains engaged in nuclear negotiations with the United States.

The report details that Iran has requested a substantial amount of ammonium perchlorate, a chemical essential for producing solid-fuel missiles. This supply could potentially allow for the production of up to 800 ballistic missiles, some of which are believed to be intended for Iran-aligned terror groups like the Houthis in Yemen.

According to the report, the shipment is anticipated to reach Iran within the next few months.
