U.S. and Israeli officials revealed that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force Unit 11000, led by Hassan Izadi, a former Iran embassy official in Venezuela, plotted to kill Israeli Ambassador to Mexico, Einat Krantz-Neiger in Mexico City. The plot was foiled by Mexican security services.
The plan reportedly started late 2024, continued through mid-2025, and was stopped by Mexican security last summer.
The same unit is reportedly behind failed attacks on Jewish targets in Australia and across Europe. A source tells N12 that Iran runs broad terror network in Latin America, directed from its Venezuela embassy, an American official tells N12.

U.S. official in response: “This is the latest in Iran’s long history of trying to murder diplomats, journalists, and dissidents worldwide — a deep concern for any country with Iranian presence.”
Israeli MFA spokesman Oren Marmorstein said: “We thank Mexico for stopping this Iranian terror cell. Israel’s security and intelligence will keep working nonstop with global partners to block Iran’s threats to Israelis and Jews everywhere.”
