The developing nuclear agreement between the United States and Iran is raising red flags in Israel, according to Israeli officials who spoke with The Jerusalem Post on Thursday. They expressed concern that the deal, in its current form, does not align with Israel’s view that Iran must dismantle its nuclear facilities.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has made Israel’s stance clear: the U.S. should push for a “Libyan model” approach. This would entail the complete removal of Iran’s uranium enrichment infrastructure, mirroring the disarmament process Libya underwent roughly two decades ago.

Western sources told the Post that there has been tangible progress in recent discussions between Washington and Tehran. However, they noted that several proposals are still under review, particularly those addressing the status of Iran’s enrichment facilities and the scope of uranium enrichment.
