COGAT, the Israeli agency responsible for overseeing activity in Gaza and Yehudah and Shomron, announced Sunday that 1,200 aid trucks carrying 23,000 tons of humanitarian supplies made it into Gaza during the past week. According to the agency, these trucks were “successfully collected by the UN and international organizations.”

Despite the deliveries, COGAT stated that “hundreds of trucks remain inside Gaza, waiting to be picked up and distributed by the UN and international organizations.”

The agency clarified that this overland aid is in addition to the “hundreds of pallets of humanitarian supplies” that have been airdropped into Gaza in recent weeks.

Humanitarian groups have repeatedly accused Israel of blocking aid and severely limiting access, contributing to what they describe as famine-like conditions in Gaza. Israel has pushed back, saying the supplies are already inside the Strip and blames international organizations for failing to distribute them. Israel also says that the claims are exaggerated.

In response to international pressure, Israel last week declared daily 10-hour humanitarian pauses in densely populated areas and increased the flow of aid into Gaza.
