The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes on Yemen today (Friday) in retaliation to rocket fire and drone attacks aimed at Israel. The strikes targeted Houthi-controlled military infrastructure, including power stations and ports, in central Yemen, specifically in Sana’a. These sites were crucial for the Houthi regime’s military activities.

The IDF confirmed in a statement that the operation was carried out with the assistance of the Intelligence Directorate and Israeli Navy. The Houthi regime, supported by Iran, has been accused of attacking Israel using drones and missiles. Israel continues to defend its right to protect its citizens.

In its statement, the IDF emphasized that the Hizaz power station, essential for Houthi operations, and the Al Hudaydah and Ras Isa ports were struck, further showing the Houthis’ use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes. The IDF also highlighted the regime’s dependence on Iran for resources and support in carrying out its attacks on Israel.

The IDF reiterated its commitment to counter any threats to Israel, stressing that it will continue to act against all hostile actions targeting the country.
