A report by Doron Kadosh reveals that Israeli intelligence issued a grave warning to the country’s political leadership ahead of its latest military operation: Iran is potentially only weeks away from completing a nuclear bomb, should it make the decision to proceed.

This warning stemmed from what officials described as “golden information”—a clandestine intelligence breakthrough that uncovered a secretive and tightly compartmentalized Iranian initiative focused specifically on constructing the “weapons group,” the key component needed to weaponize a nuclear device.

Although Iran already holds enough enriched uranium to produce approximately 15 nuclear bombs, the weapons group, essential for turning that material into actual weapons, had remained elusive. According to the intelligence, Iran began assembling elite teams of scientists in late 2023, soon after the October 7 Hamas attacks, assigning each group to develop specific parts of the weapons system. These efforts advanced to the experimental stage in recent months, with tests reportedly demonstrating significant technical progress.

Israeli intelligence concluded that Iran is now one political decision away from having a functional nuclear weapon. Officials cautioned that Iran’s true capabilities may be even more advanced than currently understood.
