Israeli Knesset Member Yitzhak Kreuzer has been dismissed from active IDF reserve duty in Lebanon following a query from the newspaper Haaretz after he was photographed inside a house in southern Lebanon, with graffiti behind him reading “Office of MK Kreuzer.”
Kreuzer’s deployment on the Lebanese front was unusual, as from the start of the war several other Knesset members and ministers were required to halt their operational service due to security concerns, primarily to avoid making themselves a target for enemy forces.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir sharply criticized the decision, stating, “The decision to dismiss MK Kreuzer, who has fought courageously since the war began, simply due to pressure from Haaretz, is a disgrace.” He added, “The fact that the army panicked over a newspaper inquiry is both infuriating and troubling.”
