Less than a week after an Israeli attack on Iran, the New York Times reported that Iran is preparing to respond to Israel within the coming days. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sent a clear message to Iran.
During a military ceremony yesterday (Thursday), the Prime Minister stated, “We struck Iran’s critical infrastructure. The bold statements from Iran’s leaders cannot obscure a simple fact: Israel now has greater freedom of action in Iran than ever before.”
The Prime Minister added, “Today, we can reach any location in Iran as needed,” and emphasized Israel’s goal, stating, “The top objective I’ve set for the IDF and Israel’s security branches is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Blocking Iran’s nuclear program remains our primary focus. We have not, and will not, take our eyes off this target. For obvious reasons, I cannot detail our plans to achieve this goal.”
The Prime Minister also addressed U.S. pressure concerning Israel’s military actions in Lebanon and Iran, saying, “Since the war began, we have faced intense international pressure, but our decisions are driven by Israel’s security needs, not by external pressures. I greatly value the support of the U.S., and my policy is simple—when possible, I say ‘yes,’ but when necessary, I say ‘no.’”
