Jewish organizations sharply criticized a grotesque display at Washington’s Union Station on Friday that revived the centuries-old blood libel responsible for countless attacks on Jews throughout history.

A video circulating online shows performers wearing masks of major political figures — including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump — sitting at a table draped with an Israeli flag smeared in fake blood, lifting wine glasses filled with mock blood.

The table is strewn with fake severed limbs and imitation organ meat. The actors, their hands soaked in red dye, use Israeli flags to wipe their faces. Those portraying Netanyahu and former president Joe Biden are seen tearing apart a pile of bloody faux entrails.

A large menu placed beside the setup reads “Israel’s Friendsgiving Dinner,” listing items such as “Gaza children’s limbs,” “stolen organs,” “illegally harvested skin,” and the drink option “Gaza’s spilled blood.” A heart appears next to Netanyahu’s name at the bottom.

The exhibit was staged in the capital’s central transportation hub, one of the most visible public spaces in the city.

The American Jewish Committee condemned the scene, saying, “Blood libel was on full display today.”

“Dressed up as ‘activism’ and ‘performance art,’ this was nothing less than the revival of one of the oldest and most dangerous antisemitic tropes in history,” the group said. “Blood libel has fueled violence, persecution and massacres of Jews for centuries. Seeing it resurface in our nation’s capital is both horrifying and unacceptable.”

The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater DC issued its own rebuke, noting that “just steps away from the symbols and heart of American democracy, a scene that would have been right at home in Nazi Germany played out in the United States. Seldom have we seen such a sickening display of full-throated antisemitism.”

Pro-Palestinian activists in the area took responsibility for organizing the exhibit on social media.

The blood libel, the false claim that Jews kill non-Jews to use their blood for matzos, is among the most infamous antisemitic myths and has sparked waves of violence across Europe and beyond. It has gained renewed use in the Arab world and among anti-Israel groups.

The incident follows reports last week that a university researcher in the UK taught a blood libel during a student lecture.
