Jordan has formally banned the Muslim Brotherhood terror group, the country’s most prominent opposition faction and an ally of Hamas, seizing its offices and property. The move follows the discovery of alleged connections between members of the group and a sabotage scheme, according to Interior Minister Mazen Fraya.
Officials have stated the ban is effective immediately.
Authorities reported that last week, security forces detained 16 individuals affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. These suspects were reportedly trained and funded in Lebanon and had been planning attacks within Jordan using rockets and drones.
